Read and repeat!

This is a very interesting read. I read it twice just to get all the information. It's not a long book, but there are a lot of names and organizations mentioned. Out of the twenty or so arcane societies mentioned, I had maybe heard of three or four.
Dr. Monteith did a great job of "following the money," showing how people with deep pockets and large spheres of influence can sway public opinion through the media, government, and other means. An example is the purchase of 25 major US newspapers prior to WWI by J.P. Morgan, in order to publish fake stories of German atrocities in Belgium.
This book made me want to look deeper into the lives of "great" Americans such as John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and J.P. Morgan, among others. There is more to them than meets the eye, it seems.
This book is 15 years old as of this review but Dr. Monteith spent most of his life assimilating the information presented here, with citations for every source. I still highly recommend it, as it's an eye-opener into the "arcanum arcanorum," the people working behind the curtains, and who is behind it all. Read it, and loan it to your friends for them to read it. This is fact, but sometimes reads like fiction. This is the world we live in. Just remember Who will win in the end.
One last note: I purchased the Kindle version, which has many formatting errors such as varying margins and pages mostly void of text in the middle of a chapter. The book is still there in its entirety and is quite readable, but if you're distracted by this sort of thing, you might be better off buying the physical copy.

THEY LIVE!

This contains some excellent information for people who don't know about the history of secret societies and who belonged to them! Believe me there are quite a few of them. In fact, it is these societies who gave birth to the term conspiracy, but today the clever evil ones have tried to 'assassinate' the word conspiracy itself by associating the demonizing label of conspiracy 'theorist' to anyone who tries to get others do delve into real conspiracies that conspiracy INVESTIGATORS have uncovered. There is nothing new about dark brotherhoods and Dr. Monteith covers quite a spectrum of players and their places in history, as well as just how much influence they have had in war, peace, revolution and social control. There is a bit too much repetition and redundancy in the writing but if you want to understand what is going on today under the surface of what you see and hear in their wholly owned media it's worth plowing through! You may find some of it disturbing to your everyday paradigms, but that's the idea isn't' it? To shake you with the truth and let you sort it out. There are some real surprises when you find out how some of the new forms government succeeded in their quest to rise and just who funded, aided and abetted them. You'll also find out that so-called 'philanthropists' and foundations are not always used to help humanity in general, but rather to further the aims of those with dark plans and powers! The money channeled through these front foundations is a big part of that dark power! Most of what is really happening is 'dark' to the general public BY THE DESIGNS of the dark brotherhood, hence the term conspiracy! Read this to further your understanding of how our world is shaped to work by them not us! The good news is the we can change it, and we do that with our personal efforts and an understanding of the evil that must be overcome!

Darkness casts a shadow over taught history

Dr. Monteith's book was written to serve as an overview and an introduction to secret societies with a diabolical root and a subversive purpose. He takes on quite a few that range from financial organizations (Bank for International Settlements, The Trilateral Commission, et al) to international organizations (Council on Foreign Relations, The United Nations) to the socio-political (The Bilderbergers, The Club of Rome, The Illuminati, et al) and finally, to the religious (The Adepts of the Mystery Religions, The Knight Templars, the Rosicurians, the Hermetic Masons, The Blue Star Society, et al). The author strings them together to explain some of history's major events and many subversive events. In the end, the reader wants more but it is a short book. If you are a fan of conspiracy or student of prophecy, you will enjoy this book. I do caution you that your perspective of known history will be challenged.
