Nice Anthology

I'm using this book for a Detective Literature class. It covers the three genres of detective fiction and includes some superb critical essays. The stories are well chosen and the book is laid out well.
I will keep this book and read the rest of it when I get the time.

Great Content, Poor Binding.

After reating (most) of this book for a class, I believe it laid out nicely. It contains a great selection of must-have detective stories, hitting all the popular characters and some lesser known stories and authors. The stories are great, and each author has a short bio page which also lists other works by him or her you might enjoy, and other authors you might also like.
I paid just under $20, and decided it was well worth the cost, though don't expect your copy to last forever. The book is very cheaply bound. Individual pages are not folded over and stitched into signatures like some other books, but each page is just cut off and glued into the binding, much like a stack of post-its or a notepad. While flipping through somewhat heavily handedly several pages became loose, weakening the spine and causing more pages to fall out. Hence, 4 stars.
As far as the content, it's great. I'd highly recommend it.

Detective Fiction

This book was bought because I was taking a detective fiction class in school. I have to say I loved this book only because it opened a new world of authors for me that I am slowly trying to read some of their other books. I have to say that there are some stories that are boring or just not good, in my opion but overall i love this book!
